This is the library of Hannah Rolyn, published by Hannah Ministries. Here is what the site knows about you, what it keeps, and why.
The short version
- Reading is free. A booklet's first chapter is open to everyone; to read on, you sign in with your email, which is free too.
- If you sign in, we keep your email address and which chapters you have read. Nothing else.
- Your email is only for signing in. No newsletters, and we never sell or share it.
- If you say yes, Google Analytics counts your visit, so we can see which booklets are read. No ads, ever.
- You can sign out at any time, or ask us to delete everything.
If you only read
You do not need an account to read the library or any booklet's first chapter. So the site looks the way you left it, your browser remembers a few choices on your own device: light or dark, text and cover size, whether you have seen a booklet's opening cover this visit, whether you have seen the newest-release message, and your answer about counting visits. None of it is sent to us.
If you sign in
There is no password: you type your email and we send you a 6-digit code. Then we keep:
- your email address, the day you first signed in and the day you last read here
- which chapters you have read, and when. A chapter counts once you have stayed on it for a few seconds.
- a cookie called
hr_session, so you stay signed in. It holds only a random number. With "Keep me signed in" ticked it lasts up to six months; otherwise it ends when you close your browser, or after a day. It is the only cookie we set ourselves.
Your browser also notes that you signed in here, so the button at the top can show it; signing out clears it.
While a code is waiting to be used, we keep a scrambled copy of it, which works for ten minutes, and of your internet address, so no one can ask for codes over and over. Both are deleted within a day.
Your email address
We use it only to send you sign-in codes. We will never:
- send you newsletters, or anything you did not ask for
- sell, rent or share it with anyone
- charge you for anything: reading and signing in are free
Where it is kept, and for how long
In one database that only we can open, run for us by Cloudflare in eastern North America.
We keep your account until you ask us to delete it. If you have not signed in or read anything for two years, the site deletes it, and everything kept with it, by itself.
Counting visits
When you first visit, the site asks whether it may count your visit. Only if you say yes does it run Google Analytics, which shows us which pages people read, for how long, and on what kind of device. It then sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_…, for up to two years.
Google Analytics does not keep your internet address. We have switched off its advertising features, so what it counts is not used for ads, and it deletes what it counted after 14 months. See how Google uses it, or turn it off on every site with Google's opt-out add-on.
You can change your answer at any time.
Who helps run the site
| Who | What they do | What they see |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts the site and the database, and runs Turnstile, the check that keeps robots out of the sign-in form and the Contact page | Your internet address and browser details, as any host does. Their policy |
| Formspark | Passes on a message you send from the Contact page, by email to us | Your name, email address and message, and your internet address, only to deliver it. They keep a copy in our account until we delete it. Their policy |
| Resend | Sends the email with your code | Your email address and the email, only to deliver it. Their policy |
| Counts visits, only if you say yes | What Google Analytics counts, above, without your internet address. Their policy | |
| Adobe | Serves the font the titles are set in | Your internet address and which page asked. It counts page views, because the font is paid for by use, and sets no cookies. Their policy |
Cookies
| Name | What for | How long |
|---|---|---|
hr_session |
Keeps you signed in | Up to six months, or until you close your browser |
_ga, _ga_… |
Google Analytics, only if you say yes | Up to two years |
Your light or dark and size choices, and your answer about counting visits, are not cookies. They stay on your device.
Your choices
- See or delete what we keep. Email [email protected] from the address you sign in with, and we will answer within 30 days.
- Sign out from the button at the top of any page.
- These choices are yours wherever you live. In the UK, the EU and California they are also your rights by law, and you can complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Anyone may read. Signing in is for ages 13 and up. If your child has signed in, write to [email protected] and we will delete the account.
Writing to us, and other sites
If you write to us, by email or from the Contact page, we use your name, address and message only to reply. We do not add you to any list. A prayer request is shared with others who pray only if you tell Lyn that is all right. Lyn is the Contact page's helper: a script on the page that asks your questions one at a time, not a person and not an AI, and nothing you type is sent until you choose to send it.
The links in the footer go to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. What they collect once you are there is up to them.
Changes and questions
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Questions go to [email protected].
